Brian EdgarBrian Edgar, BTh, MTh, PhD, is Professor of Theological Studies at Asbury Theological Seminary, USA. However, he is primarily resident in Melbourne, Australia, and travels between  the two countries.  He is married to Barbara and father of Karly (and Pete) and Tara (and Ryan).Brian has strong interests in the integration of theology with other disciplines and also with everyday life. He teaches  courses on Public Theology (he was, for some years, the Director of Public Theology for the Australian Evangelical Alliance), the relationship of science and faith, ethics and doctrine. He taught at the Bible College of Victoria for 18 years and was Academic Dean for seven years during which time he led the college (and subsequently other Australian colleges) into the adoption of the MDiv as the standard graduate course of ministry training. He is a minister of the Word and Sacrament of the Uniting Church in Australia.

He is the author of The Message of the Trinity: Life in God (IVP), co-editor of Whose Homosexuality? Which Authority? (ATF) and author of many other articles, many of which can be found at his web-site http://brian-edgar.com/.

Brian’s current interests include maintaining an interest in the developing implications of genetic and other sciences for understanding human nature, and he is working on a book on friendship (with God and others) as a relationship which is not merely a private matter but an association which has broad scale public and ethical implications.
